Hormone Health

Cholesterol is a steroid hormone responsible for the creation pregnenolone. cholesterol is created in the liver by reacting with enzymes. If there is a problem with cholesterol creation it leads to further hormones having difficulty being produced. The way around this is by taking a supplement of pregnenolone and the creation of further hormones will be less hindered. There is a benefit of finding directly where there is difficulty in creating a hormone and treating it there. This allows for your body to have a more natural way of hormone production. There is a difference between dietary Cholesterol and the Cholesterol the body creates.
Pregnenolone is responsible for creating Progesterone and a modified version of Pregnenolone. This is generally one of the best places to effect other hormones. It helps regulate the immune system, improve cognitive function and memory, its anti-inflammatory, regulates stress, and aids in neuroprotection.
Progesterone produced by the ovaries in females, and by the adrenal glands in both males and females. It plays a large role right after menstrual cycles and during pregnancy. As well it plays a large role in calming the mind. Low levels of this can cause pregnancy complications and anxiety.
Deoxycorticosterone (DOC), Corticosterone, hydroxy-corticosterone, and Aldosterone helps regulate the balance of electrolytes in the body, particularly sodium and potassium. Sodium is needed in each and every movement you make. If you put salt on fresh cut meat the muscles can activate. It helps with salt retention and re absorption. Too high or low levels causes a lot of problems in the body.
Deoxy cortisol is created by progesterone but by nature is inactive. This is the precursor to Cortisol. High levels cause type 2 diabetes and hypertension. It can also go back to the precursor and eventually become Aldosterone.
Cortisol is the stress hormone, it is important for a lot of different reasons from regulating sleep, anxiety, fear, and anger. It is important to understand that at normal levels it can be very beneficial, but it can also be very high and cause physical and mental complications. This can be the most noticeable hormone in its effect mentally and should taken care of.
DHEA may have anti-aging properties and may be beneficial for immune system, cognitive function, mood, certain conditions such as osteoporosis, heart disease, and depression. It changes frequently due to age, sex, and medical conditions. It is also generally one of the best hormones to see change in the production of other hormones.
Androstenedione is a hormone that is produced in the adrenal glands and gonads, and it's a direct precursor of testosterone and estrogen.
Testosterone is produced primarily in the testes in men and in the ovaries and adrenal glands in women.Low levels in men can lead to symptoms such as decreased sex drive, erectile dysfunction, fatigue, and depression. Low levels of testosterone in women can lead to symptoms such as decreased sex drive and depression.
Estradiol is a hormone and the most potent form of estrogen. It is produced primarily by the ovaries in women, but also by the adrenal glands and in men, by the testes. It has a key role in development and maintenance of female secondary sexual characteristics, such as breast development, the regulation of the menstrual cycle, and the thickening of the endometrium (lining of the uterus) in preparation for pregnancy.
Estrone is a hormone and a form of estrogen. It is produced primarily by the ovaries in women and to a lesser extent by the adrenal glands and in men, by the testes. Estrone is also produced by the conversion of androstenedione and testosterone in adipose tissue, muscle and the liver. It plays a role in the regulation of the menstrual cycle and the maintenance of bone density; it also plays a role in the development of female secondary sexual characteristics. Estrone deficiency can lead to symptoms such as fatigue, depression, and osteoporosis.
Estriol is pretty high when you're in the womb, but it plays a little role in adolescence and adulthood. It can be found in small amounts in adrenal glands and ovaries.
